"Especially when you don't have any money and things and then we had three children and what not."īut that remote dream would soon become a possibility when right before the millennium she visited Australia on a family holiday and after two weeks Nene says they knew where they wanted to live. "It was always at the back of our minds that we would love to go on holidays there, but it was a very remote dream," Nene said. Nene grew up in the United Kingdom in south east Wales, and says after meeting her husband at the age of 18 they romanticized about the thought of one day moving to Australia. "My lovely family said 'okay' probably thinking 'that will last until the end of the day', but here we are, I am 55 and I am still Nene." "But when I was about four, I told my family that it wasn't Linda it was Nene. Nene starts her story by emplaining: "My real life name is Linda." Having been forced to ask herself the same question, Nene Davies decided to put her pen to paper and write a novel loosely based on her own life.
